Everything works great, except the SATA cable. One end of it is visibly mutilated and must be held in place to work. But it's just a silly cable, I dug around and found a suitable replacement. The rest of the build is great, but the heatsink is interesting. It seems to perform even worse than the stock Intel cooler I have laying around, which is surprising to say the least. Even tried repasting it and still does not cool as well as I would have hoped. Oh well, swapped that out too for my Intel cooler and all is well and working great. Side note, shipping was fast and overall experience with purchase was good.

The only problem I have with it is that my keyboard doesn't work properly with it no matter what USB port I plug it into, and when testing it with another computer, it has to be the motherboard. The only other complaints I have is that there is no possible overclocking capabilities or extensive options in the BIOS, but I guess that's what you get for about $30.

The Intel DQ57TM offers an affordable entry to a solid Linux server. It supports socket 1156 Xeon quad core hyper threaded processors that are now found at reasonable prices. The Xeons cost less and benchmark close to their core i-7 equivalents but run much cooler and are less demanding of the environment. The real plus to this board is the support for ECC memory when running a Xeon processor. Finding a good deal on 4-GB used DDR3 10600E server RAM isn't too difficult. And four memory sockets let you get started with cheaper 1-GB modules. The mATX form factor allows me to house the motherboards in used HP Pavilion cases that I find attractive and run about $10 on CL. Running alongside my equivalent Dell and Supermicro systems I see no performance or reliability differences. I have two of these boards currently and intend to buy a third.Read full review

good board but you have to out a jumper on the bios on the board. I got mine and there was no jumper. no jumper mean that the board is in recovery mode and will not boot.

the DQ57tm board arrived well packaged and on time. upon removing the board from the box I noticed some dust had not been removed by the seller. no problem, a dozen cotton swabs with alcohol cleaned the board up nicely. I had previously purchased a intel core i3 socket 1156 processor for very little money. when this intel motherboard became available at such a low price I snatched it up. I had a case and usb dvd drive and an smaller hard drive to get started. no memory though. so I purchased two memory modules from two different sellers on ebay. the first module to arrive would boot the pc into the bios but would not load windows. I had no DVI monitor so I installed a video card in the pcie slot and ran a vga monitor. the windows wouldn't load I removed the video card and ran a dvi monitor, no difference. then I updated the bios by booting from a flash drive. lot of syntax tries before that got done, no difference. finally the second memory module arrived and windows loaded, NO BSOD, and I have been a happy camper since. got my money back for the memory module that caused problems. Last weekend I loaded windows 10 preview and this weekend I bought an inexpensive used dvi monitor. still have to get an internal dvd drive, a larger hard drive and the 8 gb of memory before I can put this in as my everyday pc. A great 1 for 1 replacement for the stock Acer/Aspire or Gateway motherboard. Has onboard RAID, onboard video. Clearly labeled connectors and headers. Same connectors fit in same places too. Runs very well too.
