This is a great product! My father is 87 years old and cannot get out of the tub without help. Once he tried the Drive Medical Bathtub lift he smiled happily saying it will be easy to use the lift! If you are looking for a high quality lift for your family member or anyone, and expect a fair price ... the Drive Medical Bathtub Lift is the way to go!!!

I weigh 276 lbs and this lowered me fine into the tub. However, after adjusting the backrest it started flashing green and I have no idea what that means but it refused to lift me back out of the tub. I guess it didnt have enough battery left. WARNING! The more you weigh, the faster the battery will drain. There will only be enough charge to go down and back up ONE time. I got stuck in the tub and had to turn on my hands and knees and now my knee hurts so bad. Not to mention my wrist where I had to push up. The flaps are useless for me. While in the tub one came off. Any scooting around will also make the seat cover come off. So basically. I was left in the tub with a flap and seat cushion floating around. Also I have an old tub so it is not that deep. Once I was lowered most of my body was still out of the water. This probably works better in a deeper tub with a slim to normal size person. Update: I removed the flaps and moved the seat further back so as to have more room. I'll be removing the seat pad also as it falls off. Read full review

while assembling the side flaps are very flimsey and install too easy and not much holding on or in place just plastic the blue covers pull out of the mounting holes very easy i can fix it so it is more sturdy myself but for what these things cost it should be heaver in design BUT! i bought this for my daughter and she just loves it no longer needs help in and out of the tub gave her back her dignity and privacy and pride so now soaks as long as she like in a bubble bath and knows she can get out without help that part is great

I bought this chair for my mother who is a paraplegic. She is 200+ lbs and this worked great getting her down into the tub and back up. The sides are extremely flimsy so we removed them because they were more of a hindrance. We used her sliding board instead. The biggest recommendation is to fully charge the remote, lower yourself down, then have someone unplug it and fully charge the remote again before using it to bring yourself back up. This could be an issue for those that live alone. I did chose to do this after reading several reviews of people being stuck because the remote died.

First, I received it several days before it was scheduled to be delivered. I read all the instrustions but still kept wondering how it would rise. I was expecting lots of parts. Once the handset was fully charged and plugged in my questions were answered. It works like a charm! I could hardly wait to soak in the tub. I lowered myself and sat in the tub for the first time in months. Another purchaser claimed the chair is not for heavy people. WRONG! I turned off the power after lowering myself. Then, after a good soak, I had no problem turning the unit back on and being lifted to the top. No problem and I'm close to 270 lbs. Everytime I use the chair, I recharge it, just like the manufacture recommends....My granddaughter works for a company that sells walk-in tubs. They NEVER tell the customers how much they cost. But I'll tell you, they're $15-17,000. That's a sizable investment and guess what? It adds nothing to the value of your home. In fact, the first thing most potential buyers what to do is remove it. As for use, you have to be in your walk-in tub while it fills up and remain there while the water drains. Some tubs have quick fill and drain options but still, that's a lot of water and time. Do you really want to deal with that everytime you take a bath? As for me, I'm pleased with spending less than $500 on a lift chair that's safe, doesn't require professional installation and it's portable. Even if I have to replace it every few years, I'll still come out ahead.Read full review
