Looked at a wide range of steamer products. Needed something for tile floors, triple glass doors, walk in shower, etc. After reading reviews all over the place on $600-$1,000 machines, I saw a multiple of "solid" reviews on the McCulloch MX 1385. BUT for less than $200, thought it can't be much. BUT it is. Powerful, light weight and it holds it's heat and steam power longer than I actually need it. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is the smaller end attachments always fall off once the machine get hot which is quickly. The other larger wands and steamer head have a locking system thus no problem but the smaller "scrub" type tools don't.... All in All a great buy for the money. Great for house and auto. Just not so much so for say a deck or large job.

Expected to love it but am disappointed. Instructions to start it first time are not clear. No funnel, have to take water to tank, it burps up if dont pour very slowly. it takes a long time to heat up, really slows you down in middle of project. it quita with no notice them u start refill process again. there are no cleaning covers to absorb dirt. I called Mcculloch, they were very nice but told me this unit is not for upholstry, furniture, etc, it was for hard services, grills etc. it did ok job on my inside project but tried to clean grill with steam then the wire brush with steam, it did not clean grill tho steam was strong. Attachments connection is cheap and comes off easily i was nearly burned. I read a lot of consumer reports before buying this, it doesnt do what i need. Had borrowed a different brand from a friend, dirt came off on terry cloth covers. This unit did not follow me but cord and hose kept getting tangled as I moved through room.Read full review

Overall, this is the best steamer in this price range $150-200 (the price of an okay vacuum cleaner). Nothing else comes close to the pressure, quantity of steam, & run time. There are much more impressive commercial / industrial steamers, but you will be paying x5 to x10 more. Let's put it this way - it will handle your tile & toilets well, but for sure this thing is not going to degrease an engine. So, where does it really shine? Crevices, cracks, corners or anywhere a toothbrush or a small brush is needed. Great for general cleaning of wood / laminate floors (check with laminate mfg. if steam is safe to use to avoid warping), tile floors, or people who are sensitive to or what to reduce chemical use. Cons: I'm going to dock a star because the extension wand is flimsy and would break if you are really using it to scrub stuff. The wheels are irreverent to me, because the unit it so light. Cheap plastic on the handpiece will probably break with heavy use over time. You probably will not use it for small jobs, due to the set-up / put-away time, but that's true of any steamer. On the low setting you will get might get 120 min. of steam, however it's pretty weak on low. On high it's more like 30 min., but it's a good amount of steam and pressure. On car rims, or grills it makes far more sense to use a power washer. Remember this is not a vacuum, only a steamer so it's use cleaning carpets is going to be minimal, other than loosening up stains to be blotted out. The Good: Lightweight, anyone should able to maneuver. Very compact for easy storage, it won't take up much space. Relativity quick set-up, and heating time (about 10min.) The hose and power cord are the right length (not too short, not too long to get in the way.) I've used other handheld steamers before, inadequate pressure, short run time with constant refills, & bulky designs were always problems. The MC1385 with it's separate large tank & compact handpiece takes care of all these problems. I haven't had it long enough to speak about long-term durability. Word's Of Caution: Be careful using too much steam around latex paint - as I found out it can start to peel, check your flooring type can handle steam mopping. Other Uses: With the right attachments you could also use as clothing steamer or for wallpaper removal. Read full review

Easy to use on everything. Plenty of high power constant steam for home use. Cleaned floors walls bathtub tile toilet sink and much more. Plenty of attachments. I love it! Makes quick easy work of everything and heats as fast as my old steam mop!

Advertised at 58psi. I chose this product because it had a higher psi rating. They do say it loses a little pressure in the advertisement. What they don't tell you is that it loses more than half. Doesn't even make 30psi at the nozzle per the service tech. Disappointed in the fact that there isn't enough pressure to push even the slightest amount of grease off engine parts. Equipment might be good for light house cleaning but don't expect to detatch dirt and grime from the surface. Only softens it up.

Steams great. I have an outdoor walk in aviary and 3 Macaws. I steam their cage clean, no chemicals and the poop comes off easily. I wish it held more water and that the small tips with the scrubber and brass brushes were screw on because they keep popping off when scrubbing. Otherwise great product.

I purchased the steamer to clean grout. It had no effect on the grout. Totally useless. The little brush attachment was destroyed after one room of grout treatment. The wire brush held up, but did not clean the grout either. The steam tube and handle became very hot at one point. I had to stop work to let it cool for awhile. The extension wands seem a little weak for their purpose. The steam mop was nice, made the tile floors look very good. The effect in the shower was good, made a good impression there. That is all I have done so far with it.

Easy to use and works very well at cleaning I did a few jobs in the kitchen and bathroom and love the fact that it cuts through grime and water deposits with ease. So easy that my girlfriend loved using it.
