Got this for my Stepdad so he could have wifi in his pole building which is his shop, his wifi and cell signals do not work due to the steel walls and roof. His main power comes into the pole building and then feeds the house so it was no problem getting on the same leg of the circuit, we had one unit in the house next to the router and the other unit in a heated smaller shop inside the pole building, the connection was fast and stable. Then connected an access point to the one in the shop and boom, wifi, which made him very happy!!

Old house, old wiring, speed not so good. Just tried to go from back room in house out to the garage but connection was intermittent and slow. I suspect it has to do with the old house wiring but do not know for sure. Looks like I will have to pull a cable.

Got two kits since I had three places to connect. First time around, I just did the big-button reset and managed to get the four to connect -- for a while. Then, read the manual closer. Used the factory reset (tiny recessed button) and all four connected immediately. The rest is history. Hooked up the last one to a computer on the patio which I'd been connecting with WiFi. Now all my main systems are "wired" and I've got an access point in the weak area where I'd had a repeater.

It does what it is supposed to do. Read the instructions, follow them and inside ten minutes your network goes where there is no Cat-5 cable extant. I used it in my daughter's 200-year-old farmhouse to install an extra wireless router and access point so that the thick stone walls no longer inhibited moving around the house with wireless devices, and it worked like a charm. Price is right, speed is adequate, and no technical expertise is required.

This was my solution to get internet upstairs from my modem installed downstairs. The upstairs computer is so old it couldn't support wi-fi. I needed to connect it with an ethernet cable, but didn't want to move the modem or run a 1oo ft cable through he walls. Enter the powerline ethernet adapter. Plugged one piece into the receptacle downstairs and connected it to the modem, plugged the receiver into a receptacle upstairs and now the 120vac line becomes an ethernet line! Plug and play, couldn't get any easier.
