very versatile, easy to mount and space out on the boat. while they don't fit every pole (those with a thicker end on the hand grip) they are by far my favorite rail mounted rod holder. very solid and well built. Fits well on my pontoon. I expected to use this saltwater fishing as well as adapting to hold my grill. 2 of 3 of My medium size rods don't fit into the device and it will not accept any of my reels conventional or spinning (4000 size).
