  • it IS a disc brake kit. not necessarily rear, not for Lincolns

I ordered this for 2003 - 2005 Lincoln Aviator rear disc brakes. Not there needs to be instructions if you've done a few brake jobs, but there are none. Packaging was solid cardboard box, with items in one plastic bag glued into the inside of the back of the box. Secure. the parts themselves. The disc caliper retaining pin boots which come in the kit - are one piece, and where my existing boots MAY be one piece as well, they travel thru the caliper housing. getting the new ones to pinch down small enough to press thru the caliper...without instructions, is not happening, imagine an hourglass where the pinches center is housed inside a chunk of cast iron. the disc pad glides which come in this package, are not for my vehicle. THey are twice as long. no matter how I rotated them, changed from top to bottom, they just aren't made for my car. WHile they MAY be able to fit the Explorer or Mountainer, this is just one more example - THe Lincoln Aviator is not a rebadging of another vehicle, but it's own breed.
