Bought as a replacement, same piece.
I had purchased one of these for my 455 Pontiac build. I had a 400 that I had rebuilt in the mid 80's that only had a few hundred miles on it and had been sitting in a corner. I wanted to use it. So in checking through the engine I discovered that only one ear of the original oil pump driveshaft was there. I used the driveshaft I had "in stock". This replaced it.
