Installed it on my 70 Corvette as an upgrade from the original starter. Much lighter and more powerful than stock. Fits great, but you may need some factory-style knurled bolts easily purchased at a local auto parts store.
The Remy brand was recommended by my mechanic as the best choice for remanufactured starters. Scanning eBay seemed to show that new starters were generally less expensive than rebuilt so it was a matter of selecting the proper starter for my vehicle and then searching for the best deal. So far the starter seems to be doing its job ok. The old one worked ok too, but was developing issues that made me question its future reliability.
Mechanic told me I needed a new battery. $130 later my Chevy Tahoe still would not start when below freezing out. Mechanic told me I had a short drawing my new battery down. In disgust I ordered one of these starters and problem solved. Engine cranks and starts like a dream even when the temperatures are below 0. the part fit perfectly and no hassle with returning a core. I would highly recommend,
