You really cant go wrong for the price and simplicity of the micro amp. It does exactly what it's supposed to and even has some unexpected positive effects on your overall rig when engaged. When disengaged it has no negative effects on your signal chain. You can use this pedal for a quick boost but that's just the beginning. The boost this pedal provides is an essential part of my tone so I tend to always have it on just as I always have my dyna comp on and the two complement each other nicely. Another way I use this pedal is to lower the volume on my guitar to the 2-3 range and boost the signal with the micro amp. It's a bit counter-intuitive but theres a boost in presence. The change is subtle if your a lead but it gives bar chords a chimney quality like on the old low output pups in gibsons, making it a must have for people who want that old school chime. If you have a tube amp you like, this thing will make you fall for it all over again. And the small footprint and simple setting of the micro amp make it very pedalboard friendly. Also the price is right. Period.Read full review
The 133 is simple and straight forward to use. It does give an audible click (slight) when pressed if used directly in line with the instrument. However, it has a very clean sound , no hum, buzz, etc. I use it in the efx loop. There is no audible noise when the pedal is pressed using it in the efx loop. Very clean Sound. I am very happy with it and you will be too! Vieira

I had initially purchased this pedal to rejuvenate the signal of a damaged overdrive pedal and bring it back within an acceptable volume range. It not only did that, but it managed to up the signal of the overdrive pedal in such a clean way that you can still only hear the sound of the original overdrive effect! This pedal is so clean and packs such a punch that you can have a 10watt amp set to 1 on it's volume knob and play as if it's set to 8, as long as this baby is set to max! When they say clean boost, they mean clean boost! You're basically buying a volume knob pedal and it's worth it! It won't make your amp louder than it's max, but it will definitely bring a damaged, low signal back to it's max audio level with no problem! Broken volume knob? This is the pedal for you!

The MXR Micro Amp is perfect for more than one application. It can be used to enhance your rhythms or it can be used to boost your solos. With only one knob it is easy to "set & forget" and when you need it at that special moment it will be there for you. With tone that's clear and precise. So if your looking to add to your overall sound, look no further than the MXR Micro Amp. It will not only enhance your over all sound, but it will inspire your playing as well.

This is a great boost, plenty of power in this pedal, and great tone. It's clean but also adds a little trebly bite to it I feel, which is nice and I think helps with cutting through the mix. Excellent pedal!

I love it! Clean volume boost without changing tone. A couple of tips: If you're clumsy like me, don't put the rubber piece on the gain knob as it's way too easy to kick it up or down; and if you use a lot of gain already (mine stays around 9) be sure to run it through your effects loop instead of plugging straight in to it. I doesn't make any noticeable difference through the amp's input jack. Awesome pedal! Awesome price.
This is the 2nd Micro Amp I've owned. I bought it to replace one I had and used regularly for 8 years. I had an Ego Booster that popped real loud when engaged. This thing engages smooth without any pops and is a great clean boost, perfect for solos. My absolute favorite boost pedal!!! It doesn't really color your sound. It just louder with maybe slightly more treble which is perfect for cutting through on a solo. If this one got stolen, I wouldn't hesitate and buy another one again!
It does exactly what it says, it's an easy, simple pedal to use for changing volume to your signal. I use it to even out the difference between my 335 and my Strat, as my Strat has quieter pickups than my 335. For that application it works beautifully. The only thing that it could use a little work on is the fact that it has a bit of noise or hiss to it after you get past 1 o'clock on the gain knob.
I bought this pedal because I have a little amplifier that gives me a great sound, like an old crunch amp. But this amp is too big to carry it with another pedals or to travel with it. I love the sound that it makes, like jack white's guitar. The gain, the response to the volume. It's perfect for me. I will dance every day with it and give it all my love. Nothing wrong. Every guitarist that likes the vintage sound should have this pedal. You have to love it love it love it and dance dance dance dance when the sound is coming out from what you play. dig it dig it dig it lalalala
I've been playing in bands over 30 years and have always needed something to boost the leads up a little.this pedal works great for that. The last one i had lasted about 5 years and was abused regularly.theses are built really well and don't change your sound at all.just clean boost.i run it in the effects loop. It makes your clan sound even better. I also think the price is right. There are other brands and devices that do the same but this is the one for me.
