i replaced a tired old ibanez AD80 from the early 80's with this maxon. maxon makes great products that i consider on par or better than many boutique pedals costing much more. this analog delay delivers a darker delay sound than the original AD80 that is reminiscent of the early BOSS DM-2. the pedal is very quiet, and the repeats taper off with surprising precision. overall, a very solid, lo-fi repeat maker that will add lush depth to any audio source. also, one of the last analog delays to use real NOS bucket brigade chips. after these disappeared in the early 00's, makers switched over to cool audio chips. this is a nice way to get classic analog parts and flavor without the liability of a 30+ year old pedal.
A very musical delay- If you're into warm delay this is a great one to get- No long delay times at all, so if that's what you want don't get it. If you want classic old 300 ms or less analog, this is superior and very old feeling/sounding. Not the best for feedback delay, there you're better of getting the AD-9 maxon... I give 5 stars because it's wonderfully musical for subtle delay, which is what I like. Rock on......
Bought from the 'States for my son and his band. He used it at a gig for the first time last night and is absolutely delighted with the effects. EXACTLY what he expected and hoped for. Solid bit of kit with all the control you need.
