First of all, it's from my favorite author of all. It puts main character Joe Pickett in his last official duty as game warden in Baggs. In the second half of the story, he finds that some people don't want him to solve the mystery, some just want him to let it go, and some want him to solve it, but for nefarious and malevolent reasons. It splits Joe between doing his job, which he's always serious and nothing-held-back about doing (and also his job as a LEO) and doing what others very close to him think he should do. A very good book all-around. In my opinion (not having read cold wind, yet), C.J. Box's best book yet.
Having spent time in WY, I appreciate the authors effort to portray WY as it is. Great books by CJ Box.
