  • Useful small knife with a drawback

The Q Ball is a small knife with a Wharncliffe blade. It features a Spyderco Ball Bearing lock. The blade is 2.750" long with 2.200" of cutting edge. It can only be carried tip up. The main disadvantage of this knife is the force that is required to unlock the blade once open. To do this involves the fingernails pulling rearwards on the white ceramic ball that releases the lock. This can be awkward for some. It can be altered to be easier. In general a useful small EDC.

  • Q-ball - nice but needs considerable tweaking

Very nice knife however the ceramic ball that releases the blade to close either doesn't close easily or gets stuck. Actually cut my hand trying to close. I have two Spyderco's (Dodo and Tusk) that have the same mechanism that works perfectly. I think the problem may be because the ceramic ball is considerably smaller on this model. Sent to manufacturer to try and get fixed. Awaiting response.
