Prior to purchasing the Nizoral, I was using another treated shampoo to deal with my itchy scalp. I could not go more than 1 day without washing my hair or my head would itch so bad that it would drive me crazy scratching it. After washing my hair for the first time with the Nizoral shampoo, I was able to go 3 days before I got fearful of what my head would do if I didn't wash it, so I washed it again with the Nizoral (following the directions of leaving it on for 5 minutes). I honestly can't believe the results and I have only washed my hair twice with the shampoo so far. I recommend you try it if you are not having success using something else.

I've been using this dandruff shampoo for about 2-3 weeks now. I think it works well, however I really am not a fan of the *strong* fragrance. It's super overdone and unnecessary! It's not even a nice-smelling scent, it's just really strong. I am surprised that I still see flakes on my scalp. However perhaps I need to give it more time. I wish I would have learned Nizoral makes a fragrance-free version of anti-dandruff shampoo before I bought this. Apparently it's only sold in the UK.

I bought Nizoral because my dermitologist recommended it. I had patches of dry skin on my head along with itching. I was told to wash my hair often, in the beginning, and use Nizoral 2x week alternating with my reg shampoo.I tried all kinds of dandruff shampoos but most of them smelled and didn't really do the job. Within a week, the symtems were gone. Beside doing the job it was made for, the shampooo smells great. I have a zillion allergies and was very leery of trying anything new. You save money by using Nizoral because it really has a built in conditioner that works!I have some gray and some frosted hair and both need a conditioner except when using Nizoral. Even the woman who washes my hair at the salon can't get over how my hair actually squeeks when washed. Now I know where "squeeky-clean" comes from! There is no residue and no lingering smell. The only bad thing I can think of is that it has been removed from the shelves in the US. I've bought it outside the country and it is exactly the same product. Thank goodness! I give this shampoo as many stars as they allow!Read full review
My head. What was wrong with my head??? I say this because I never had problems with dandruff until my late twenties, when all of a sudden my skin started flaking off when touched. My eyebrows, my scalp, and even my ears! Friends would make fun of my ears and say I have wax in them, but it was really just loose skin flakes. I gave it some time (a few years) hoping it would pass, trying different washing procedures, shampoos, etc. Basically, anytime I'de go in the shower.. I'de get out, dry.. and my skin would quickly follow with dryness, redness and flakes. It was ugly. Finally, I get the nerve to see a dermatologist - and I say this because I dont like doctors much. The dermo told me that I needed to treat the problem, sebhoric dermatitis. Gave me a bunch of Neutrogena anti-dandruff samples and what not. I didnt like them and pretty much threw them in the garbage. They looked and smelled very chemically and I dont want that kinda stuff on my body. A few months later I did some more research and found ingredients on Wiki about what relieves dandruff. I searched for that ingredient and found that Nizoral uses that same ingredient in their shampoo. Google + amazon = nizoral shampoo. Click to buy, a day or two later its delivered to my door and I used it that same day. Within the first, second or third use my symptoms were gone. I could care less about price, its cheap compared to the 80 dollar dermatologist visit which got me nowhere. Like everyone else said, its very foamy and cleans well. I wash my hair every 3 days and quickly scrub it in and rinse it out, I don't care to leave it in. Basically, its in there long enough to do what it needs to do - and it does it well.Read full review
The only con I have is that this shampoo isn't sulfate free but it works for my needs. For some time now, I have to shampoo my hair more frequently than usual. If I don't my scalp just stinks. Most of the clarifying shampoo doesn't remove the waxy feeling from my scalp but this shampoo does. I just use this twice a week and my scalp smells clean. I hate that it is somewhat pricey for the size but it works for my needs. I think I might have to go on the candida diet to clear this condition I have but this shampoo is helping my condition.

My wife has thinning hair, and we saw a segment on a TV show recommending Nizoral for dandruff control and new hair growth. It works great for both, and she loves it as a shampoo as well.

Have struggled with dandruff for years. Have even used some of the tar type dandruff shampoos. But Nizoral is the only thing that has controlled my dandruff problem. Highly recommend.

As a Hispanic male my skin type is sensitive and prone to dandruff. This stuff works amazingly and I buy it religiously. It is the only thing that has ever worked for me.

I've used this shampoo for years because it gets rid of dandruff flakes. Plus it leaves my hair soft and clean and it smells good. I'd use Nizoral as a shampoo even if it didn't control dandruff.
