Having been a Carol Burnett fan all my life, this was just something I had to read. She wrote in such a personal way that you could follow her life and all the ups and downs she has faced along with laugh out loud sections. Loved the book and as a matter of fact have passed it to others to enjoy, no need to keep all that talent here for me to savor. Definetly a good read and one that you too will pass along to others to enjoy, as it should be. She filled us all in just like a long lost friend on her latest trials and wins and her losses along the way, but still I finished it with a smile on my face and wishing the old friend well.
I could not be more satisfied with This Time Together by Carol Burnett!!! It is a wonderful book on CD!!!! This is an amusing and insiteful into the career of America's premire comedy star. I have also bought the hard copy of the book and I cherish both. This has a wonderful inisite into the life and comedy of Ms. Burnett and I look forward to many, many more products by and about Ms. Burnett that might be available in the future!!!!
This is a fun loving book to read. I grew up watching the great Carol Burnett on television and she was so wonderful and funny as heck. Everyone will get a hoot out of reading this book. It also is an intelligent read by the funny and genuine lovely Carol herself. It's funny, it's endearing, sometimes sad, but mostly hilarious. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
A few months ago I read Carol's first book, One More Time. It was written, I believe, in the 1980,s -- it was wonderful. Now just finished reading this one, This Time Together. It's a great follow-up. I would recommend both of her books. Even if you're not a fan of Carol's, it's just good and fun reading. She is so down to earth and puts humor into her books.
Like Carol, this is light, funny, and leaves you feeling better than when you experienced it.I wanted more detail about the workings of the show, but she delivers enough to pay tribute to the hard work and gives enough backstage perspective to leave us wanting more. And I guess that's the mark of a great entertainer. Carol clearly is a legend. I hope someday if she's got nothing better to do than read these, she will see this and smile, too. That makes a few thousand smiles I still owe her.
The book is a good collection of stories about Carol Burnett's life and some of the people who she met and worked with. She has some good stories about the famous "went with the wind" dress that is now in the Smithsonian. She is also very frank about some of the tough moments in her life as the loss of her daughter to cancer. A good read that you will find yourself picking up and rereading again and again.
A legend who we have loved since her first show. Great book, great memories.

I used to watch The Carol Burnett Show when I was a kid. I really like her, she's funny, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were hilarious!!! This book is short stories of important parts of Carol's life. Some cute, some sad. Its easy to read, I read it in several hours.
