I've been a Windows user since 3.1 and started a new job where I was using a Mac Mini every day at work. I really did not like the OS for a couple of weeks until I figured out where everything was at. Once I became accustomed to the OS, I started looking at Macbooks as I was in the market for a new laptop. One of the things that really sold me on the Macbook was the ability to run a bootcamp Windows setup. I was looking at used Macbooks because I do not feel that they are worth their price new, but for the price I paid for this used, it's worth every penny. My old laptop was an Asus with a 1.8 dual core AMD and 4GB max memory running Win 7 64 bit which I upgraded from its original Vista 32 bit. It had a pretty good video card (512MB dedicated Radeon) but battery life was horrible and it was annoyingly loud because the fan was constantly spinning at full speed. It was so loud that you could hear it from the next room. So I picked up this Macbook Pro and gave my old laptop to my mom as it's got way more power than she will ever need. I am really loving this MBP. The battery life is incredible to the point that I wonder how it's even possible to last this long on a charge. It is also whisper-quiet which is really nice compared to that Asus. No longer do I have to crank up my TV five more notches when the laptop is powered on in the same room. The 2.53ghz dual core is plenty fast and it came with 4GB of memory but I immediately upgraded to 8GB. This thing honestly is overkill for what I am using it for. I will be upgrading to a bigger hard drive as I'm going to eventually need more than the 250GB drive that it came with, so I plan on going with a 750GB hybrid drive and doing a bootcamp Win 8 setup (which I am also using at work and have become accustomed to... trust me, it's not as bad as people say, it's a worthy upgrade from Win 7). Once I get my bigger HD and bootcamp setup I feel this laptop will last me several years before I feel the need to upgrade to something else.Read full review
I love the Speed and the macbook pro 15" have it, excellent graphic levels OLED screen with bright colors and nice resolution, the speed is great with the new mac osx snow leopard, the trackpad is very confortable and nice with the multi-touch experience, the i-sight camera also great resolution... Is pretty heavier than the 13 inchs but If you want a bigger screen this is the right one to use.
This machine is awesome!!! It is by far the better system when PC and Mac are compared. This is so compact and sleek & light weight. Great casing. The clarity and visibility of screen is an added bonus. The battery life is very good. I use this primarily for home use, but I also run a lot video editing programs and such... handles very well! I am at a lost for words. I am former PC user, I feel kind of silly for not switching earlier. To live is to learn! The only areas where I would say that apple missed the mark would be PRICE; it is a bit costly, but shop around. The volume on these machines are not very loud, but not a nuisance either. I know I am not very technical, but I hope this helps. Enjoy!!!!!
As a diehard Apple user for over 20 years, I must say they just keep getting better. I've owned just about everyone made since 85 and can't remember having a hardware problem with any. Sure they cost more - AND YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR. Apple has the same market share as BMW and Mercedes do in the automotive industry and like those manufacturers, they always lead the pack in innovation and quality. If your looking for a $400 laptop or PC, grab your self a Chevy!!
Aah, the Macbook Pro 15" laptop. What's not to love? I migrated to the macbook years ago with my first Macbook 13" and loved it. When I was ready to upgrade, this Macbook Pro was my choice. It is an awesome computer. The lcd screen is beautiful and clear and such colors! It is lightweight, powerful with an Intel Core 2 duo 2.66g processor, and lots of hard drive storage. The battery runs about 6 hours. Because Apple makes the hardware, the operating system and many applications the macbook is truly an integrated system.
