An epic with unreadable English subtitles
Giant Robo is an amazing and epic anime adventure. I previously owned an English dubbed version of this collection which I sold before the set went out of print and prices sky rocketed. I found this import collection on EBay for a super reasonable price and while pleased with the visual quality of the product and packaging was disappointed to discover that the English subtitles are incredibly poor. The dialogue was indecipherable. I would not recommend this set for non-Japanese speaking audience.

GIANT ROBO IS THE REAL STAR OF THIS ANIME SERIES! SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE TOLD THE PRODUCERS THAT.
SO very disappointing! Giant Robo was barely even in this series at all! Really was looking forward to seeing Giant Robo fighting a bunch of powerful monsters and other cool giant mechanical creatures and having totally huge epic battles! Unfortunately, the human characters got just way too much screen time and bored me away. (Double Groan.) This could have been really epic!

Giant Robo is an interesting beast that needs to be seen to be believed
It's basically a "giant robot" opera, with larger-than-life characters that deliver emotionally-charged and dramatic lines between beautiful set-pieces, all conveyed with beautiful animation and a pretty decent dub. Would absolutely recommend.
