Design Design Design!!! This little thing is the best design Jony Ive's workshop put out! It is so small, so discrete, so VERY BEAUTIFUL! A friend gave me her graphite one but I always wanted a lime - thankfully the seller had a brand-spanking-new for sale. A lot of people complained about the controls on this ipod. The controls are on the earphones. Actually, I find these controls a lot easier to operate than any other ones, and so far I have: the first shuffle ipod, the second gen. shuffle, the first gen. nano and the sixth gen nano. Yet this 3rd gen shuffle is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE IPOD! Because I am so nuts about this design - and already have two - I decided to get el cheapo knock off circulating around. It arrived and I just glanced at it and immediately I felt it was repulsive. Copy something, but copy it well, at least. The knockoff was so-very-bad. And to top if off the (very bad looking, quite different that the 'real' one) clip had the apple logo on it. Oh, it made me mad... I gave the battery 4 stars initially, but I changed it to 5 because the battery life is very good. I don't know what it supposed to be (what the official release for that model said) but I often go more than 6 hours without any warning. And the features are just enough. Anything more becomes more cumbersome and eats battery - the nanos come to mind, the 6th gen with all the bells and whistles lasts a lot less than this shuffle. I simply LOVE it!Read full review
I was looking for a compact device that I could use to load songs on and play them in the car. I wanted to be able to listen to just a particular genre of songs (like Christmas, summer, rock, pop, religious, instrumental, etc.) depending on my mood. For me, loading the music onto this iPod is easier than sorting the many, many songs on the iPod that's already in the car into playlists. I just plug in this one and enjoy.

Bought iPod for storing tunes and use while walking. I liked the unit being small and announcing the song titles, and the earphones. For me it wasn't easy to play at my home by attaching to an external speaker system and enjoy as much as I did while I had been walking.
I bought the 3rd Gen shuffle due to the large memory capacity since I misplaced my 2nd Gen shuffle and haven not been able to find it. But having used the 2nd Gen shuffle for so long, I must say that I prefer the 2nd Gen shuffle to the 3rd Gen even though the 2nd Gen shuffle has a smaller memory capacity. Not a big fan of of the remote being on the headphones. Remote feels really flimsy. Also keep having problems with the remote. It freezes and at time will lower the volume its self. Never had these problems with my 2nd Gen shuffle In the end, I plan to get another 2nd Gen shuffle. I will not buy another 3rd Gen shuffle.
I bought this iPod for its size & convience of use . Fits perfectly inside my earbud case . I own an iPod touch , classic & mini but this one I carry everywhere . I highly recommend it !
