One of the best PC games of all time. Played it years ago and decided to play both Portal games again. Requires problem solving skills and good eye-hand coordination. If you're weak on these, you'll be much improved after completing this game! For the best experience, I suggest playing the original game first as this one takes off where the other ended. However, that is not a requirement to enjoy this game on its own. Great humor throughout the adventure as you come face-to-face again with GlaDOS, who really "is alive!" again, and her sarcasm and hostility towards you. . Plus, you get to meet the inventor/owner of Aperture Science and the test chambers, Cave Johnson, who is full of wacky commentary as you progress through the latter part of the game dealing with his new discovery, repulsion gel. I assumed that if I purchased the DVD new, that Steam would be generous and give a new activation key, but this is not the case. In English, that means that any OPENED DVD of Portal 2 is completely unusable to you. Might as well throw it in the trash (which is what I did). I got it refunded, but don't make the same mistake I did. The only Portal 2 to buy on ebay is from a sealed, unopened case with a never-used activation key. Portal 2 is a really great game with challenging puzzles and new interesting vibrant characters for being robots there is so much personality, heart, feeling, and humor that comes from these games. Not to mention, the voice acting is wonderful. The soundtrack has great music. If I were to have one complaint about Portal 2 is that the problem is that it keeps having to compare itself to Portal 1. The original Portal at heart was a puzzle game with witty humor with some story elements thrown in. But at base, it was a puzzle game. Portal 2 seems to focus more on the story, and less on the puzzle aspect of it. Not that it's a bad thing, the story is very well executed that made me have huge "gasp" moments while playing it. Portal 2 is good, but it is not as good as Portal 1. It's a shame that this game has the problem of having to compare itself to the original, because if not for that it would be a fantastic game. I will recommend it though for any fan of the portal franchise, puzzles, valve, or video games in general. And as a afterthought about these games: I love how subtle that the main protagonist is a female, and Chell is the best female protagonist I've ever seen portrayed in a video game. Funny narrative, with an interesting take on puzzle solving. A gun that shoots, to where you wanna go! What makes it is the commentary. I bought to replay, but i'd consider the game short(2 days or a week of casual playing.)

I bought this game because I liked the concept of the game. It is a great puzzle solver with a very intriguing storyline. There is a nice blend of frustration and humor intertwined throughout and is ultimately a very good game. Caution would be advised as there are a few instances (not many maybe twice) where h**l or d**n are used. This is completely unnecessary and ultimately a drawback as it is otherwise a clean game. However, I highly suggest this game as it is 99% clean and is a great puzzle solver that works your mind.
