When buying a DNX7100 unit, will not be disappointed. It has a variety of connectivity options and comes with GPS. The sound quality is haughtiness and consistent. Updating software is easy and fast, however, the design of the menus and the location of some choices is not logical or intuitive, it requires taking the time to carefully read the owner's manual and experience over their options. Particularly installed it on a 4Runner SR5 4WD and was a great time (even work perfectly audio controls on steering wheel incorporating a universal device) and I added a camera to back that really helps a lot with the rear vision. I managed to install the maps of my country (Venezuela) in the GPS system and it works great. I am very happy in general terms with this system and the quality of Kenwood does not disappoint. Pros: A high quality system, with numerous options and accessories that will surely cover the expectations of most people. Cons: The menu design and layout options are not very consistent across the different screens. In particular I have a 8 GB Kingston Pendrive with about 1500 songs and it may take around 3 or 4 minutes reading the list of songs, every time I start the car. I have the DNX7100 in one car, and I have a brand new Kenwood DNX5160 in another car. The 7100 is a model they made about 2-3 years ago. Its interesting to see how Kenwood has improved it's interface in the last couple years. That being said I actually find the older DNX7100 easier to use. There's more clutter in the various menus on the newer versions of these DNX units, and it can be very cumbersome to navigate through the features, especially when you want to drive your car. It's almost like these units are doing slightly too much!! Which is a funny complaint, but I have to say I think I like the slightly older model 7100 a little more, because things tend to be where you expected them, versus have to go through too many menus to find what you're looking for. On my DNX 7100 I have added the following pieces: the bluetooth module, the iPod cable, XM radio, and I've installed another after market DVD player/screen in the rear of the car, which is connected to this DNX 7100. The bluetooth is flawless, it easily pairs with your phone and your contacts, call logs are clearly accessible right through the DNX touchscreen. Perfect. The XM radio feature is working great too, crystal clear sound quality. The unit plays DVDs up front, even while moving, and it will play videos( and music) off your iPod or iPhone, and it will send the video signals to other TV screens you have in your car. The touch screen is accurate, and responsive. The Garmin is good ( I think Tom Tom is making a better Nav but oh well), the maps are easily updated by removing the SD card and just connecting it to your computer, so that makes this far better then any stock nav system thats typically based on a bunch of over priced DVDs. All that being said, the DNX's are amazing units, they are worth paying the full retail price, but they're not hard to find on sale somewhere. Don't be afraid to get one of these used either - if its from a reputable seller, chances are it'll be well worth the money you'll save. A clean used DNX7100 can be as cheap as $450, compared to what it was new - over $1600 !!Read full review
