Like infosnacks that you can't stop consuming...
Scott Kelby must be a walking encyclopedia of all things digital and photographic. His ability to break stuff down into easily learnable bits probably has a lot to do with his success, and he is a generous and superb teacher. Pro: The format of these books make the ideas presented VERY easy to grasp, and there is a true wealth of ideas on offer here. It's hard not to learn something every time you pick one of these books up. Cons: It can be a little hard to organize notes for future reference with this multi-volume collection. Kelby has a charismatic writing style that indulges non-sequitur and abstract references in a way that has always annoyed and fatigued me. Some people love it, but I do not. Volume 5 is like the collected greatest hits from the previous 4 editions. It's actually the one I started with by borrowing it from the library. I liked it enough that I wanted a copy of my own to mark up with margin notes. I was able to find this used for a dirt-cheap price and was happy to get it. These are truly great books, and well worth the indulgence of the writer's occasionally annoying habits.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
