Good value, and certainly easier than renewing just the worn CV boots.
This axle shaft is new replacement part for a very obsolete vehicle. It does not appear to be old stock, or at least not very old. I don't know what an axle shaft like this would cost for a newer vehicle, but the price certainly seemed reasonable for an older vehicle that doesn't have a lot of market value.
