Lock works great, but rubber safety ring won't fit into circular groove
There is a recessed groove around the circumference of this cap. Unfortunately for my needs, the groove is about 1/8" too narrow to allow me to slip the rubber ring around the cap. This is the tether that is loose fitting and allows you to twist the gas cop off and let it hang right next to the downspout as you fill the tank. Without that tether, gas caps fall on the ground in the dirt, snow, etc., or worse yet: you set the cap up on top of a gas pump and sooner or later, you'll drive away and forget to put the cap back on! I've seen me do this twice in my life over the past 45 years!!!
