I bought the Getzen 300 thinking it was a cut above a student horn. When I got the case it was obvious by the writing that it was once owned by a little kid. I didn't pay over $100 for it so I felt ok. When I played the horn I had a hard time believing that some parent bought his kid this much horn in 1968. Since I am just learning the instrument myself I don't think it is beneath me at all. It is nicer in some ways than the Conn Director horn I have which is also a student horn I believe. It doesn't feel cheap and probably plays a ton better than any of the Chinese Specials out there... and you don't have to worry about the lead content. I love it and play it every day.
Product was very nice and fit well.

Greatly built and play well for a student or an intermediate player. Well worth $125-$450 depending on used condition. The Getzen 300 I played was vintage. So I'm not reviewing the newer serial number Getzen 300s.

In this case, Getzen is a superior product much as a Mercedes and a Ford, a ford is a good car but a Mercedes is just better built.
