I've been using KYB shocks on my rally cars for many years now. They've always worked well, offering effective damping on all kinds of roads without being overly harsh on poor surfaces.
In case it's of help to someone, this specific part number, KG5514, works on a number of vintage cars. It is the correct part number for all 1957 Ford fronts (and should work for all 58s and 59s with the possible exception of the Thunderbird) and also works as the front shock on the 1951-4 Henry J. This last is my application, and these shocks transform the car's handling.
VERY highly recommended!
I've used several different brands for my vehicles through the years. I have had great experience using the Gas-A-Just on my vehicles. I have tried the so called high end brands,
(which cost a small fortune) and have found the KYB's to perform just as well!
