Worth the upgrade over OEM shocks.
I have used KYB gas-a-just shocks on three different vehicles over the years and have always been satisfied with the upgraded performance and the longevity. KYB indicates that gas-a-just shocks are 20% stiffer than OEM shocks. However I find that the progressive staged action of these shocks means that smaller bumps are handled much like the OEM case, However larger transition is where the extra dampening kicks in. This means that there is less body sway on tight cornering and harsher bumps are better managed. My latest application is on a rear tube shock conversion kit on a 1959 Austin Healey Sprite using KG4192. I was initially worried that the shocks would be too stiff in this non-standard configuration. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ride and handling are vastly improved. I wish I had done this conversion years ago.
