  • Good spark plugs that last a long time.

The Denso Platinum spark plugs came already pre-gapped to specifications. I was really amazed at this. The install was super easy and I didn't need dielectric grease for the threads of the plug. They are supposed to last 100,000 miles and my old set lasted a little bit longer. I recommend buying a set of new spark plug wires, as the old ones tend to unravel and fall apart when you pull them off the old plugs. The heat shields are reusable though. If I could go back in time and change my plugs at 85,000 miles, I would do this. It is good to check on them specifically if you think there might be something going on with your engine. Reasons that I changed my spark plugs was that the check engine lamp came on, and that the engine started to idle rough and felt like it was 'missing.' Because my engine had over 150,000 miles, I knew that I probably needed a tune up. Plugs, plug wires, ignition coils, and fuel injectors were on my list, but after replacing the spark plugs and wires, I feel confident that I can get a few more miles out of the coils and injectors. Overall, I spent $75 on plugs and wires doing it myself, I'm sure having my vehicle serviced somewhere would have been astronomical.
