Specified as recommended replacement. Aftermarket thermostats reported to be inferior and problematical.
88 F-250 7.3L IDI Diesel. Upon disassembly I found this same motorcraft thermostat . Defective,never fully closing,& opened early @ 145 F. I had suspected either no thermostat or a defective one stuck open ,(Actually not such a bad thing , when they stick closed and cook your engine is when you have a serious problem !) I suspected a faulty thermostat because I could get very little heat out of the heater,as it turns out thermostat was at fault. As to quality and value , Time will tell ! At this time it looks Good ! Nice to finally have Critter Comforts in my truck for the 1st time since aquiring this vehicle ! keep on Truckin ! SunPower52 !

Cold with a defective thermostat
Not necessarily the product, you get a bad one from time to time. I replaced my thermostat with this one and it’s only been about a month since it was installed. It’s hung open, therefore i have no heat in the truck. Wrong time of year!!!! The seller of this thermostat, aimsautosupply on ebay doesn’t want to help with replacing it. Would not recommend buying from them.

Not Too Hot Any More
It is a 195 temp. Thermostat. So engine warms up nicely and doesn't get over 1/4 temp on the gauge. I recommend the Motor Craft for Ford engines.
