Moog K8687 for '04 Taurus/Sable
Received the Moog K8687 ball joint new in the box and immediately knew it was factory defective by moving the ball stud back and forth. Unusual amount of looseness/play...most indicative of a what you would find in a well used ball joint. Confirmed it by going to the local auto parts store and having them pull a couple off the shelf to compare. I understand this was likely an isolated case, but does pose the question of quality and quality control. Other thing I noticed compared to the factory Motorcraft ball joint is that the protective boot is thinner. Subsequent research revealed many complaints/problems with them tearing during installation due to it being of a weaker material.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
