A/C Compressor
I bought this A/C Compressor and I thought I was searching for a 5.9 L Jeep. It came in a box nicely packaged. After I removed the old compressor, I realized the wiring harness didn't match this one. Well, I clipped the wires off the old and new compressors. I spliced in the old harness, on the new compressor. After complete installation, I evacuated and serviced to 24 ounces of refrigerant. Blows cold. Works good. Took me 3 hours total. This compressor came with a diode; but, I deleted it, when I spliced in the old harness. There's probably a diode in the system already; and, it's not a good idea to run two diodes. It's been working fine for a week now; so, it must be just fine. Given the opportunity, I would buy this compressor again. It's a 20 year old vehicle and only 25,000 of these 5.9's were made; and, I have found a number of times that there just aren't very many parts for this vehicle and a lot of 5.2 stuff, doesn't always translate to the 5.9; so, to actually find something that works with very little modification; and, doesn't cost me an arm and a leg? I'm happy. I wouldn't be surprised to have to pay $100 more, had I bought one specifically for a 5.9; so, buy with confidence.
