Worked on my ‘98 Blazer LT

Visually an exact copy of the original. The shaft on the new handle that goes over the broken splined shaft on the seat is longer and is a tight fit that took a little light hammering with a rubber mallet to seat properly; even then, the new handle sticks out slightly farther than the original, so if you have ocd it may drive you nuts. The included screw is also too short so a new one will have to be used, I found mine in the shed. Great price for two handles.

  • Top critical review

    They probably could have worked....

In the description, they state that they can attach to the broken shafts of the mechanism. Unfortunately, I imagine there are many ways the shafts could break. In my case, I was not able to attach the one on the drivers' side at all, and on the passenger side I managed to push the handle onto the broken shaft, but the screw was not big enough to actually reach any metal in the shaft. So....in conclusion they didn't work for me. However, they seem to be well made and I'm sure if the shafts had broken differently, they would have worked fine.

  • Good product - screws slightly short

The seat adjuster itself is identical to the OEM. The only issue I had was the screws included are just a hair too short. We had to purchase two slightly longer screws in order for them to "grab" onto the remaining shaft.

  • Small modification made handle look and work properly

Could not find seat handles for my 1998 GMC K1500, my next best option wasto try fitting handle made for "GM vehicle". Portion of handle which fits over the seat shaft did fit perfectly, however it was too long and splines did not engage completely. Modified the handle by cutting off about 2/3 of an inch, mounting was perfect, had to use the old screws (dia. too small on furnished screws). Handle fits well, looks perfect, functions correctly.

  • Dorman Seat Release Handles

Well built handles but the seat part that breaks has a smaller groove than the guide on the Dorman handle. This means that the groove needs to be enlarged in order to insert the new handle. This will be a job for someone without the proper tools. Even the end of the shaft on the seat may need some work to smooth the outer end. I do recommend this part, but beware.

  • Not a good fix

The product does not match existing handles. Does not slide or fit broken shaft. Not a good repair or broken alternate for my 1999 Blazer seats. Still looking for a appropriate fix. Sorry.

  • Like inexpensive and decent fixes

Inexpensive fix for broken handle shaft end. The spline handle end of seat mechanism broke off. This handle has a longer hub that slides over remaining length of shaft. Needed to supply longer screw to secure. But at less than $10 for two handles, I can not complain.

  • Fixes GM's defective seat handle rods

The handles work good, but the cheap screws included in the package are throw-aways. Find yourself a better screw of slightly larger diameter and tighten just them just enough to snug them up.
