The CURT class 3 trailer hitch is the most common type of trailer hitch installed on full-size pickup trucks and SUVs. It is also popular on crossovers and mid-size trucks. This CURT class 3 hitch has a gross trailer weight capacity of 5,000 lbs.
True to advertising, no drilling was required.
Time to install is greatly exaggerated. A professional garage with a vehicle lift and experienced installer could possibly install it in the advertised time. When I inquired of local garages to install, all quoted a time of a one hour. I did install it myself with one other person and it took one and half hours.
It required 3/4" socket, 3/4" box end wrench (socket with ratchet drive did not have sufficient clearance for one bolt) and torque wrench.
Use of supplied, rectangular washers made the installation multitudes easier. Make sure not to overlap adjacent washers when bolting.
Wear eye protection to prevent debris (dirt, rust) from getting into eyes.
