As all BDPs, the Pioneer DBP-120 does what it says on the box. The reason why I went with Pioneer and not Sony or any other manufacture is because i personally believe that after Cambridge Audio, Pioneer is the next best thing. I wanted to buy a multi region dvdP but Cambridge Audio DVD99 was really hard to find. So, as soon as I came across this I bought it straight away. What I like: Its a Pioneer (legacy in A/V and the First Brand which manufactured THX certified products excluding Snell). It has multi region playback for dvd's along with 1080i/p upscaling and Progressive Scan. As a BDP is still neat and has many options to fiddle about. It has 24fps 1080p. Easy menu. What I don't like: It takes long to read BDs - not because of a problem. The player its self tells you that reading will take a while. So does the switching on/off. Nevertheless this is a good BDP. It does the job. I am not going to mention the ethernet port as it does not concern me because its only for BD-LIVE. However if you have a Pioneer KURO TV you can connect it and control TV and BDP with one remote control. Overall I put good because of the amount of time that it takes to load and switch on/off.Read full review
