This novel, set in the Pacific Northwest, will keep you guessing as you follow the adventures of the main character who learns that he has inherited a huge mansion in Cannon Beach, Oregon. He travels from Seattle, where he is a very successful high-tech business president, to check out the house. As the story continues, he keeps discovering new rooms in the house that reveal things to him about himself and about his relationship with God. A local mechanic (angel, Jesus-incarnate, or just a local man???) befriends and mentors him. Then, of course, there is the love interest. Our book club had a lively discussion over the many interesting facets of the book. I recommend it. Some have compared it to The Shack...you'll have to make that call.
LOVED it! Of course The Shack & The Screwtape Letters are 2 of my other favorites. And I spent 4 years in Arch Cape, right where the story takes place, so it was extra special to me. Absolutely was amazed at the different rooms and how they effected him so deeply. Kind of had a slow pace for the first 3/4th of the book...maybe due to the main characters s-l-o-w rate if learning (thick head!). :) GREAT book. Highly recommend it.
This is an excellent book. This author is a wonderful author. I've now read two of his books. The books are spellbinding and a page-turner. The way he writes keeps you captivated with each chapter and keeps you guessing up to the end. I've thoroughly enjoyed his books and will probably read the others.
A way to figure to get deeper relationship withGod and your own inner issues.
