With that amount of core processing power, the Q9550 Intel Core can allow you to get great performance out of your computer. The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 processor has a base frequency CPU speed of 2.83GHz. That speed determines how fast the computer starts up and how long it takes the operating system and various programs to load. It allows the user to play games while running other applications in the background without slowing it down. The ample cache can also enable processes to run repeatedly without any problems. The Intel Quad 2.83GHz core performs a series of tasks such as receiving instructions and making calculations based on a software program. The memory type for this Core is DDR2 SDRAM, meaning it accesses data at the same time at twice the speed and interfaces with the RAM. An Intel Core 2.83GHz has a wide dynamic execution, which can allow overclocking to improve the use of energy. The user can overclock the Intel Core at 2 to 3.5GHz. All of this core functionality can allow you to complete various tasks at the same time in shorter periods.A component like this Intel is the brains of the computer, and compatible motherboards can tie the CPU and all of the other controllers and components together to promote seamless operation. The Intel Core 2.83GHz Quad Core has a CPU Socket T type, which uses an LGA775 socket. This computer component has a rated board TDP 95 W. The speed of the Intel Core can allow various gaming applications via the CPU. The motherboard acts like a circuit for the most important parts of the computer such as the CPU and other hardware. Users can utilize the Intel Core 2.83 GHz LGA 775 with desktop computers. This machine can be good as a replacement part or an upgrade for obsolete or burned out CPUs. When it comes to the Intel Core 2.83GHz, there are over 600,000 CPU Benchmarks. The Intel Core 2.83GHz has Intelligent Power Capability (IPC), meaning it can turn off sections of the computer not in use. The results can improve energy efficiency and prevent the computer from overheating. The Intel IPC can also allow the computer to run with less noise. Another feature of the Intel Core is the Smart Memory Access (SMA). Intel increased the data bandwidth, which can allow the user to multitask without the computer shutting down too often. The user can run complicated programs at the same time and accomplish more in half the time with this quad core from Intel.

  • Old SFF Desktop Upgrade

I wanted to extend the longevity and improve an old PC I bought off eBay for cheap, plus gain PC building skills as a beginner. So I found this compatible quad core processor and I already had a new stock intel fan to go with it. Applied some thermal paste, had issues with overheating but that was due to a difficult motherboard and push pins not lining up. Once I properly secured the fan so it was flush with the processor, no issues. I've monitored the temps ever since, runs nice and smooth, added another 8 gigs of ram. Good for internet browsing and emulation station. It was definitely an easy and worthwhile upgrade from the previous dual core. Now I feel ready to tackle my first Ryzen build from the ground up, new and different set of challenges.

  • good value

If you have a motherboard with the 755 socket, and you don't want to upgrade the power supply on that older hardware quite yet, this CPU is a good choice. It can manage most gaming and practical task without complaint and doesn't draw too much power. Think source engine games like Garry's Mod or Team Fortress 2, or TES; Skyrim for what games it can manage flawlessly- the integrated graphics can handle that on normal settings. I'm glad to keep my computer running smoothly.

  • Awesome for the price!

Used this to restore an old Dell Vostro 220s, works perfectly. The CPU does not support Intel turbo boost, which is okay with me. But that's not the seller's fault. It arrived two days earlier than said and came in very protected bubblewrap, followed by anti static packaging on the CPU itself. Every other used CPU I've ordered always had thermal paste all over it but this did not have any paste on it whatsoever. It was very clean! The old CPU the Vostro was working with was a single core CPU clocked ag 2.6 GHZ. Which was clocked out completely on Windows 10 idle. Was very funny to see! I paired it with a gtx 650ti and was able to play most modern games at medium/low settings at 50fps+. (This is with the GPU, not with the iG. Slight issues I've encountered: The integrated graphics were alright, only game I could run was Minecraft Windows 10 edition. Take note that THE INTEGRATED GRAPHICS DO NOT SUPPORT OPEN GL SOFTWARE AND APPLICATIONS!!!!!!! With this, I was not able to run most Java programs like Minecraft java, or server software. Its highly recommend you use a gpu for this. I'm not sure if its driver issues or that it's simply too old for Open GL. It confused me for a bit, but that's okay. Overall, a very very good CPU, I such an upgrade, really. Thank you for selling this to me.

  • Used CPU in fine condition

This used CPU was in fine condition. The top was reasonably clean, with only minor traces of thermal paste. The part that goes into the socket was spotless. The CPU works as expected; I have stress tested it (with the GCC) and it performs well under duress. It does not get too hot, even with an Intel stock cooler. A fine upgrade for my old desktop system!

  • Easy, fast upgrade

Processor dropped right into an older HP 8000 Elite SFF to replace an E8400 Intel chip. Installation was stunningly easy. Booted right up and computer recognised it with no issued at all. Was rewarded with a substantial speed increase in all aspects. Thanks.

  • Fast shipping, Fast CPU for an older platform!

With this processor, 8GB of memory, and a solid state drive you have a fast PC despite being an older platform (LGA775). If you include a nice Graphics Card you have a good gaming computer. Highly recommended if you have a 2008ish or later Intel 775 motherboard.

  • A good upgrade if your computer can support it.

First, keep in mind that Core 2 Quad processors require compatible systems and boards, and enough power supply to run them comfortably. You'll need a 3 or 4 series desktop motherboard (or the equivalent workstation/server motherboard) with 95 watt CPU support for this to work (though some 965 and 975 boards may also work with it). Second, you may need an upgraded cooler if you're currently using the stock cooler from a Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual-Core, or Celeron/Celeron Dual-Core processor. Finally, some computers require that you flash the BIOS so your processor can be read correctly. As far as performance goes, the additional cores give you a performance advantage when it comes to multi-threaded apps and games over dual-core processors. With the right video card, games like GTA V and Mortal Kombat X are playable. Just don't expect this chip to keep up with Core i7 and i5 quad core systems. In single-threaded applications, your performance with a quad is similar to the performance with a dual-core, clock-for-clock. Installation ease depending on your system. ATX systems with the Intel stock cooler or BTX systems with the flip-up style cooler are simple - it's just a matter of replacing the heat sink goop when you install the new processor. On ATX systems with large aftermarket coolers, you may have to go through a few hoops to do the installation properly, but at least swapping the CPU out is simple. Just make sure your system supports this processor before you go to install it. Ultra-small form factor machines with external power supplies from companies like Dell and Lenovo may not have the juice to run this chip; some machines may also need a power supply upgrade to support this processor (I like PSUs with single-rail 12 volt designs). All in all, a good upgrade.

  • Not bad for an old dog

While this CPU is close to the top of the line for this class, it does not compare to newer more mid-line CPU's. When upgrading from a Celeron E3400, this CPU only netted about 33% better in performance benchmark testing. You would get a much better ROI with an SSD. However, it is still better and relatively inexpensive these days.

  • Great upgrade.

Needed to upgrade an old socket 7 75 which was running a core 2 duo E8500 chip on a x32 version of Windows 10. Needless to say it struggled. Found the core 2 quad Q9550 for $30, grabbed another 4 gig of ram and swapped out the motherboard for a 780sli board I had lying around and the difference is like chalk and cheese.
