I bought this Pentium 4, 2.8GHz, 400KHz FSB processor to upgrade the 2.0GHz Pentium in an Aopen AX45-V, 400KHz FSB, DDR memory motherboard system. The Aopen AX45-V motherboard BIOS, with 2Gb DDR400 memory installed, allowed me to easily boost the speed of the original 2.0GHz Pentium to 2.66GHz and 533MHz FSB, with no apparent increase in heat, though little noticable increase in performance. I had hoped that this Pentium 4, 2.8GHz, 400KHz FSB processor would be equally as easy to overclock by a proportional 33%, but the computer won't start in with the BIOS so adjusted. So it runs only at factory specifications. In the computer's current configuration, with the Pentium 4, 2.8GHz, 400KHz FSB processor installed which I am reviewing, and an ATI 128Mb AGP video card, remains only a medium performance system just able to display most of the multimedia content found on the web, render audio/mp3 and video/mpg conversion.Read full review
Built a computer for my mother. Used this processor. It is hyperthreading at a good speed and meets or exceeds her needs. She Plays Big Fish and other similar style games, listens to music, streams video, and checks her e-mail. With this processor , 2 GB ram, and a Nvidia 512 MB Graphics card-her unit is suitable for most casual or everyday computer users.
First of all I'm portuguese, so, I hope you understand me. I bought the Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz for my MSI motherboard. Unfortunately it did't work. First I became upset, but, fortunatelly, inspite of my 63 years of age I still can think (hehehehehehe). So I've tried it on my other computer that has an ASUS P4P800-VM. PERFECT.... And the best of all is that my ASUS had a Celleron Processor 1.4 GHZ and now I'm trying to catch it because it became a runner, so, now I must run and that it very good for my health. Thank you eBay. As an Intel product, I am satsfied with this processor. Works fine. Enjoying the speed in my PC. Highly recommended. if you have slower processor in your PC, please replace it with this one as it will boost up your PC speed and performance.
I've bought it to change my old Intel Celeron CPU. This item came to me without heatsink paste, but it wasn't a problem for me (because I'd alredy got it). Works perfectly even been accelerated to 3.0 Ghz. But it heats up as a kettle:) Good deal.
