decent speed at great price. you can get one for $90 or less regularly. One complaint is it runs a little hotter than my previous cpu t5270. Understandable, but if you want a fast cpu that runs cool as well i would choose t8100 or spend a bit more and go for t8300, or t9300. x9000 is fastest for gm965 chipset...but i bet it runs hot too. T7700 runs cool enough for my system (vostro 1500) and i am happy with the speed. Go to "passmark benchmark cpu tests" for comparison of all cpu speeds.
It was the right CPU had no problems installing and I like that came with the grease

Perfect upgrade for my Compaq 8710P. Aside from wrestling with the heat sink, and the stuck video processor attached to it, the process was a breeze. Cleaned the heat sink, applied a little Arctic Silver, and she booted up like it was factory. This upgrade plus a Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid HD made it act like a new race car. Highly pleased.
