NHL 2K10 returns to the rink with revamped visuals, rewritten artificial intelligence, and redesigned multiplayer features. A new skating system has been included on defense to complement such details as incidental contact, stick lifts, stumble shots, and more. New rink introductions, goal celebrations, and player models are just a few of the notable changes to the presentation, but one aspect that remains the same is the commentary team of Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda. Franchise play returns with a new free agency system, financial model, support for fantasy drafts, dynamic player progression, and tools for easier roster management. Play a franchise season game cooperatively with a friend (online and off), or create a team with custom uniforms. Track your online accomplishments and progress with "My Player Card," and upload your franchise's stats and standings to your own web page at 2KSports.com.
I loved the NHL 2k series until NHL 2k8, when they stripped franchise mode (all I play) way down. I did not bother with 2k9. I gave them another chance with 2k10 and I was again disappointed. Roster management is harder than it needs to be. There is no scouting at all and the draft lacks any personality (you see the ratings of all players, no trading, no review of draft pool once the draft class is made before the draft, no ability to stop or save once the draft starts). The game does look real good and play well, but for me (as a fan of offline franchise), NHL 10 is the one I am playing.
AWESOME PRODUCT GREAT FOR VALUE A++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Once again, NHL 2K10 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is the hockey game for the other guy. 2K Sports' treatment of the sport is the yin to NHL 10's yang, boasting arcade accessibility for casual fans instead of its rival's rigorous attention to on-ice authenticity. While the game is unlikely to be taken seriously by members of the hardcore shinny set, it really wasn't made for them. This is a quick pick-up-and-play game for people whose interest in the real NHL doesn't go much beyond watching a few Stanley Cup final matchups every June after the primetime TV schedule has gone into repeats. There isn't a lot of depth--either on the ice or in the GM's office--here. Scoring is plentiful and pinball passing is a necessity. And, yes, there's a speed burst button. Still, as long as you know what you're getting, you'll make out fine. Even though this isn't a hockey simulation, it is an enjoyable hockey game for those who want to sit down and put the biscuit in the basket right away.Read full review
Great game good graphics. I use to play 2k5 and 2k6 a lot when I was younger and I like them better Nhl 05/06. Kinda sucks they don't make any more 2k nhl games. Great overall game not to technical user friendly for a gamer trying a nhl game for the first time.
