National Geographic Kids Level 2: Pandas (Excellent reader)
The quality and feel of the book is as phenomenal as the photos. Great for first through fifth graders... enough information for a child to write a thorough report. It even includes a two-page spread at the end of names the Chinese have used for their beloved panda (in Chinese as well). The very last page includes 6 vocabulary words and definitions with a photo. There is one sentence that may be questionable: "Pandas have lived high in the mountains of China for millions of years."
