The Dell 7010 GY6Y8 motherboard is ideal for the experimenter
This is a good motherboard for anyone needing a replacement or who wants to build a cheap but very good computer. This board is proprietary, but it is easy to work around this. It is great for building NAS file servers. dont expect to use it on your case unless it's a dell case with the right plugs
This board uses a 5pin power button connector and the headers are all funky, you cant use it unless you use the dell hardware that came with the case, get an adapter, or splice some wires which is a pain in the wazoo. It also uses a skinny 5pin for the case fan and the CPU fan.
