Order of War is a World War II strategy game featuring distinct campaigns on the Eastern and Western Fronts. Taking place during the summer of 1944, the game will have you guiding both the Americans against the Germans and the Germans versus the Russians across multiple missions and objectives. Unlike most strategy games, Order of War does not feature base building or resource gathering. Instead you directly control an entire army consisting of tank divisions, aircraft, artillery, and ground troops in large-scale, tactics-oriented battles. A dynamic camera lets you view the battlefield from different levels of zoom, offering a cinematic approach to the combat. Game review
I am NOT a computer geek/nerd, which is kind of funny as about 35 years ago I was a computer operator running IBM main frames. Of course back then, THE latest IBM had was called a Series 1, though by today's standards a desk top pc has more computing power AND doesn't need a reel to backup your stuff. Now my brother is into pc games and has been for at least 30 some years, going back when the monitors had tubes, something I called boat anchors at the time and of course, a green screen. Now he's into World Of Tanks online and plays a couple stand alone strategic pc games. One's Shogun, don't remember his others. I bought a computer about 20 years ago from Circuit City when they had them on sale for $500 which was a lot of money back then, but cheaper than the normal price of $800. I still have that pc. Then bought a used one via Ebay on recommendation of a friend who's not only into computer, but builds/modifies them. Then thought I might get into pc games like my brother, so bought a refurbished one from Best Buy a couple of weeks ago. it has 4 times the speed and something like 5 times the memory of his. For 1/3rd of his original price. With this background info, here's my review. I have NOT played a game yet, just learning how to play it using the tutorial. So why 3 stars? You HAVE TO have a Steam account to even load this game onto your computer?! Have Hearts of Iron 1, lent it to my brother who didn't have to go thru Steam to download it on his computer. Imagine buying a Xbox 1 game and being told you have to sign up with Xbox Gold to play the game. Graphics are set at standard and they seem okay. Hope to give another review once I learn how to play this game.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
