  • A fascinating film

I collect movies in an unusual sub genre...the military court martial drama. This film is a tense and compelling entry in that field.

  • Best enjoyed without prior knowledge

An enjoyable film that deals with questions which will always haunt us. Widmark puts in his usual fine performance. The acting of Richard Basehart makes you forget his crap on "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea". Look for an early Rip Torn role. Direction by Karl Malden makes you wonder why this was his only complete effort in this area. While the film is still good when you know what is going to happen, it has more power the first time the less you know.
