  • Excellent Guide for Raising Chickens

If you have any interest in keeping 1 or 2 chickens in your backyard as pets and for the eggs, of if you want to setup an meat and egg operation with 100's of chickens, this the definitive guide for doing it. Written in an interesting and informative manner, an easy read. This is a tutorial - instruction book, the Table of Contents is very well organized such that finding your area of interest is quick and easy. The index is a short cut to what your looking for after you get a little familiar with the book. The author is quite intuitive, covering some 'simple subjects' in good detail for newbies and at the same time elaborating with many more involved details for larger operations as well. The authors intuitiveness is a welcome relief, she answers your questions before you form them. I was thinking she was reading my mind as I was reading through may sections, as questions began to form, there would be the answer! A must have reference book even if you have been raising chickens for a while. A great investment.

  • Very detailed.

This even gets into breeds of chickens and their anatomy. It is a very detailed reference guide, almost like the "for dummies" guide.
