Product Information
Based on the long-running Marvel comic book series, X-MEN takes place in the near future, as certain humans are evolving into mutants with special powers. In the Canadian wilderness, a young runaway mutant named Rogue (Anna Paquin) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), a bad-tempered, quick-healing mutant with retractable metal claws, are suddenly attacked by the powerful Magneto (Ian McKellen) and his lackeys. Fortunately, Cyclops (James Marsden) and Storm (Halle Berry), students of the compassionate Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), interfere and bring them back to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Here Wolverine and Rogue learn more about the conflict between Xavier and the militant Magneto, who wants to power a device that will genetically alter humans, with possibly deadly results. Only Xavier's students can stop Magneto's plans.Director Bryan Singer (THE USUAL SUSPECTS) displays his expertise with an ensemble cast, accomplishing a feat by making the first live-action film about an entire group of superheroes. Hugh Jackman's portrayal of the ill-tempered Wolverine is dead-on, while Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are ideally matched in their Martin Luther King, Jr.- and Malcolm X-like roles. Smart and well-paced, X-MEN towers above most comic book movies.

I thought this was all in all a good movie.
The Good: Hugh Jackmen as Woleverine, good job in choosing a nobody, Patrick Stwert as Xavier, and also Sir Ian and Magneto, the special effects were great and the fact that if you know the comics, they show alot of characters from the comics as kind of cameos and/or minor parts.
The Bad: Using Rogue as the Jubilee story,James Marsden as Cyclops, they needed to get someone older,no Beast, he is one of the original X-men, he's also the smartest second to Xavier, also no Gambit, a fan favorite. Also there weren't enough action scenes, this made the films pace a little slow. If your a follower of the comics then there are disappointing parts but from a movie stand point its was a good movie and a joy to watch.
If you're a comic following fan.. this movie will come as a disappointment. But aye.. if you already know the ending what's the point in watching right? So.. we get another side of a story. Like any movie that was original a book (ok comic book) This is Hollywoods version. Must of been on a budget because key folks are missing in this tale, but if you haven't followed Xmen and are new to the tale..well this movie is overall.. a good start. Opens doors to a great Trilogy and a new tale to follow. End the end.. it tells a new version as to the mystery of why Rogue has grey highlights.. and all this time I thought it was stress.
This is a great adaptation for a comic book film. Great actors such as Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Patrick Stuart as Prof. X. Great storyline and great visuals as well. Buy if your an X-men or comic book fan.
This was a nice beginning to the X-franchise of films, including the awesome Wolverine film. There wasn't much action in this first film, but Director Bryan Singer made up for it with a great story.
