I'd just like to start this off by saying the Nintendo handholds (game boys) have never been region blocked you can play a Japanese game on an American Game Boy. With that out of the way The Super Robot Wars(or Taisen) games are almost always fun pure and simple(with the exception of the American DS game Endless Frontier). Truth be told you don't need to know much Japanese to play them but it can be difficult making me wish that some of the 50+ games in the series would've been translated. Some copyright issues prevent this but Japan either can't or won't stop allowing game companies to make money so it's highly unlikely they'll attempt anything against you. The series is a strategy game with rpg elements, creating a system that is cross-culturally exciting and challenging. The dealers on eBay are reliable including the one I used to acquire this little classic. The main idea is to have giant robots from T.V. shows fighting each other, since bandai owns the company that makes them that spells out a lot of gaming since they own almost every giant robot show in existence(even Gundam Wing, Gigantor and Voltron have made appearances). They are story intensive I swear I think I'm starting to wear out my A button skipping dialogue, but if you can get past that I guarantee you'll have fun. Each Mech has their own signature attacks, which have their own animations and the theme music from the show will play when they attack or defend. You don't even have to be right next to the enemy to attack, just being in range is good enough and the attacks you can do will be highlighted. If all else fails you can buy the two Game Boy Advance game that came out in the U.S.A. Keep in mind though this series has been on consoles which are region blocked. As for translation issues there are some people whom have founded wiki based sites for the games and have printed out translation cheat sheets you can use. Overtime however you really wont need them after having so much fun, you'll find yourself wanting to challenge an old foe and see if you can defeat him in a better way. Well hope you enjoyed reading this review as much as I enjoyed writing it. Good night and Good Gaming.Read full review

the product was in great condition and plus i enjoy playing the game. the only i dislike about the game is that since it was an import game i didn't get to enjoy the storyline as much but the game was still fun to plan, wish that the industry had translated the game.
