This 1958 recording has been through many re-releases over the years. I had to get this latest as it contains the "Pomp and Circumstance March," which up to this time has only been available on Virgil's Wanamaker recordings. This disc is still a favorite, as it shows off Virgil's lightening fast technique, (Widor's Toccata) and the note perfect performances of a variety of organ classics. The organ at Riverside was never recorded clearer, in my opinion, and so this makes this recording historical! Also, this was RCA's best recording period. Superb sound and generous liner notes. A MUST for any organ fan!
