As good as factory part
Old cruise buttons on my sister's 01 explorer were toasted and didn't work (good old tx heat). These were an easy install using factory wire loom and cruise control works great. Included wire loom is a great quality and does work I just used the factory as it was still in good shape and to save having to pull the whole steering wheel off to run the new wire. Not an OEM replaced ?
This part seems to not be an EOM-type replacement, and did not fit the harness on my 2003 Ford ranger. I was able to install it, and it's working, but the clips and wiring harness on this replacement part are different than the original equipment clips and wiring harness. If you want us to work on your 2003 Ford Ranger, you'd have to do some deeper disassembly of the steering wheel in order to install the wiring harness that's provided with the parts. Almost like the original.
Functionally these are just like the originals. They are a little softer, which may be better for longevity since I’d expect they’d be more resistant to cracking. Mine, however, showed up with a few blemishes (not a deal breaker since the rest of the truck is 19 years old) and the illumination is a bit bluer than the rest of the car.
