A treasure for a lifetime and another I cannot live without...
"Seek and you shall find" are the words that came to me early one morning as I was tending to routine kitchen tasks. I had the great good fortune to discover this international concert pianist while watching the national and international Chopin competitions. I did not have much in the way of classical music, so I searched for the world's best pianists. Then, I came upon Andrei Ivanovich's performances with the Tbilisi Orchestra when he was just starting out as an international artist. Of the many recordings I heard and the few I purchased, there was just something that captured my imagination, my love for the piano, and the spiritual connection to music I feel. I found this recently and discovered even more to his playing. I treasure this, the third such rare find, and hope to find more of his recordings in time. Well received and well known across Europe, his CDs are kept for life by those who have followed his career and international tours. With the keen eye of an architect and photographer, Ivanovich captures the imagery and storytelling behind these beautiful pieces as Chopin might have constructed them and seen them, himself. The heart and emotion of Chopin comes through with brilliance, sweetness, strength, beauty, grace, intellect, and clarity.
