If you care at all about your health or the health of others: friends & family then this is a very important book to read. If your passionate about healing yourself and the state of your future then this book is very informative. However, if your sensitive to animals and their welfare then beware that this book is an eye opener. I ran an animal rescue SO I'm super sensitive to how people treat God's creatures but if you eat meat and it's served on your plate then for the sake of the animals sacrifice & to empower you about farm factory & corporate greed again this is a must read book. It helps you understand in every aspect from world hungry to global warming to what the journey is for that animal is that your about to say grace over during dinner. It gives websites, names of more books to educate yourself on and how you can help. Overall, I learned so much, I'm passing it on and educating others but also took away so many tools for my heathy toolbox like Meatless Monday's, eat 100% organic, support your local farmers, look for pasture raised (grass fed) and so much more. Buy the book used if you can't afford it brand new and pass the book on. The whole world should be reading this! In the end, it made me change almost everything about my lifestyle and the lifestyle of my family. I will not support the corporations that provide to the unethical treatment of animals and farm workers. You just get such a better understanding of your food as a whole from the travel to the store fronts to your plate. You possibly can't thing about conventional food the same way again. How could you when you read about the 6 cruel ways the factory farm cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys are treated. And this is just the 6 worse. I'm glad they made this book and the movie to bring awareness to what we only know as our breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is so much more to what we eat and how the food industry is unjust. Be prepared to be empowered but also have a new look and insight to food.Read full review

great book very informing,i think everyone should understand the decisions they are forced into on a daily basis. only in america do we have the freedom to write and read whatever we want! yet we take these for granted many times and assume that the powers that be always have our best interests at heart. we have resources like this at our finger tips yet many people will avoid them oh what a waste.
got the book and am excited, I saw the movie and thought I'd also read the book also anyway As a result of watching the movie I am now a vegetarian and started buying food from my local farmers market. Guess it just one gradual step in a long change hopefully to come when people stop to think about what their ingesting into their bodies. Ok then take care, sincerely tony peck.
Great tie-in to the movie. I wanted a reference book to have on hand. This book was well written with good information. I'm glad that I've been eating organic! The prices of books on eBay are usually low and they get here fast.
