It is a For Dummies book.
I am learning the Nikon system and I started with the Nikon D60. The menus and adjustment I felt would carry over to more advanced Nikon's. The first book I purchased was a For Dummies book written by the same author as this book. In fact, this author has written a lot of Dummies books on Nikon camera which means you will have some familiarity of how things are arranged in the books if you move up. I suppose the author has done about as good a job as possible. It is all about adjustments either to the Nikon settings or do your own thing. I am still studying.
