This Hogue with Finger Grooves Sig P228 Pistol Grip 28000 is a rubber grip option for these SIG pistols. Their one-piece style is designed for an outstanding fit on these two SIG models. It is light in weight and compact, and it has the quality and performance that you expect from Hogue. There are a number of reasons why rubber grips may be an advantage. If you have particularly large hands, you may not be happy with the sureness of your grip on your SIG P228 or P229. Adding rubber grips makes the handles of these guns bigger, and that may give you better control and a more comfortable grip. Some people like the way that rubber grips absorb recoil. Rubber grips may be the solution to help the kick of your gun when it is too heavy. They also help when the kick interferes with the enjoyment of shooting your SIG Sauer. This is important since both recoil and a wobbly, soft grip can ruin your barrel accuracy. The surface of the MonoGrip has a cobblestone texture to give you a sure hand, but it is not tacky. There are ambidextrous palm swells, so both left- and right-handed shooters will have a symmetrical grasp with no awkward lumps. Great grip for bigger hands on the SIG P229
Great grip for a great price IF you have big hands. My hands are just big enough that the stock grips on my P229 were a bit narrow so i ordered the HOGUE GRIPS. These grips are a bit of a catch-22...they fatten up the grip a lot so you'll need big hands to get around them...BUT...the top finger groove under the trigger guard is a bit narrow so its NOT really ideal for big hands with big fingers...thats what i meant by a catch 22. My fingers seem to be a bit squished in the grooves, but it is better than the factory grips for keeping my SIG locked in to my hands.
